CS Healthcare Help Members Fight Back Against Back Pain
Civil and Public sector healthcare providers, CS Healthcare is helping their members fight back against back pain in addition to providing them with comprehensive private medical insurance policies.
Many modern day workers sit or stand for long periods of time every day as part of their working life. Back pain is an increasingly common condition that affects adults largely due to busy lifestyles. It is our spine that takes the majority of the strain in our daily lives, and it has even been suggested that as many as four out of five people will suffer from back pain at some point throughout their lives.
An in depth look into back pain was published in CS Healthcare's Summer 2008 care magazine. This article laid bare many of the problems associated with back pain and even offered helpful advice on how best to treat it as well as offering preventative measures and techniques. CS Healthcare continually endeavours to provide its members with all the help and support it can and therefore chose back pain as a topic because of the large number of people it affects. The spine is made up from 33 small bones known as vertebrae. Linked by discs, ligaments, and spinal muscles, the spines most easily damaged part is known as the sacrum.
The sacrum is located in the lower part of the back and in fact, bears most of the weight from the upper body making it a prime candidate for back pain. Typical causes are due to muscle trauma from lifting or twisting that results in pain. Another form of back pain that warrants mention is pain from trapped nerves. In these circumstances, a nerve is sometimes trapped by the spinal cord, which can lead to pain. Usual causes for this are inflammation from sprains or slipped discs.
Joanne Lumb, Head of Medical and Provider Services at CS Healthcare had this to say: "With so many people suffering from some form of back pain, it is important to be as informed as possible as to causes and treatments. It is important not to suffer in silence; therefore researching as much as you can how to alleviate or prevent it can only be a good thing." CS Healthcare feel that keeping customers informed on common complaints not to mention top tips on how to stay healthy are an integral part of their customer care. Delivering high quality, clear, health care information as well as great private medical insurance is important to them.
It is also worth knowing that CS Healthcare's policies are designed to provide cover for the treatment of acute conditions. By this we mean those conditions, diseases or illnesses that respond to short term treatment with the aim of returning you to the state of health you were in before suffering the disease, illness or injury. These policies do not cover treatment of a chronic or long-term condition.
