CS Healthcare Support New Hospital Hygiene Regulations
The UK based private health insurance provider, CS Healthcare has responded to a new report being published next year investigating the sensitive subject of hospital hygiene and cleanliness.
A new registration test is to be introduced from April 2009 as part of a new Care Quality Commission, which is set to regulate the minimum standards of hygiene a hospital must maintain.
Hygiene is an extremely important area and any hospital found not maintaining satisfactory standards could face closure. There have even been reports stating that several NHS Trusts and hospitals around the UK will fail to meet some of the necessary hygiene standards, and therefore may be affected by the test.
With some hospitals providing a poor hygiene environment for their patients and more people being conscious of 'superbugs' such as MRSA, private health insurance is increasingly important.
Joanne Lumb, Head of Medical and Provider Services at CS Healthcare stated;
"People are only too aware of the issues of hospital cleanliness and the fear of infections within their local hospitals. Many people turn to private health insurance to gain access to private hospitals safe in the knowledge that good clinical standards and infection control are all part of the service." sub>
Private health insurance gives the customer the chance to make an informed decision regarding their treatment, including which hospital they are seen at. This choice ensures that they do not have to be seen in a hospital environment that they are unhappy with.
